Belém, often referred to as Belém do Pará, is a city and port nestled within the lush landscape of the Amazon River delta in northern Brazil. Situated on the shores of Guajará Bay, near the mouth of the Guamá River, this vibrant city boasts an equatorial climate characterized by warm temperatures averaging 80°F (27°C) and abundant rainfall measuring 86 inches (2,175 mm) annually.

When asked about his advice for new feeders, Allan emphasizes the importance of antenna placement and cable management. "Try to set your antenna as high as possible," he advises. "And reduce or minimize the amount of cable between the antenna and receiver to reduce losses." These insights reflect Allan's commitment to optimizing his setup for maximum performance and range.

Allan Tavares's AIS station boasts an impressive range of 14 nautical miles (25 km), effectively tracking ships navigating the waters along Belém, Pará, from the Amazon River to the Atlantic Ocean.
